Award-winning composer & arranger, Sean Sumwalt hails from the Midwest, Muncie Indiana.
Sean’s works have been featured at the Tribeca Film Festival, The Heartland Film Festival, the California Independent Film Festival, among many others. His score for SARGE won “Best Music in a Film” at the 2016 Reading Film Festival and has worked on the hit Netflix docu-drama series Chef’s Table. As part of the writing team for Chef’s Table, the show was nominated for an Emmy two years in a row (2015-16) for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series.
Sean’s love of the video medium, in both film and games, has led him to pursue a career and life built around creating music that moves people. After graduating from Ball State and Butler University with a degree in Music Composition, Sean journeyed westward to the University of Southern California by earning a coveted spot in the exceptional Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television (SMPTV) graduate program. He spent his days with the finest teachers leading in their field of expertise including Freddie Wiedman, Garry Schyman, Bruce Broughton and Jack Smalley.
Sean currently resides in Atlanta and spends the majority of his time collaborating with fellow artists all the while further honing his musical talents. He still manages to arrange and compose several yearly pieces for many high school and college level bands across the country.
